This rug was handwoven by Keltouma who belongs to a female only association located just outside of Taznakht, an area that has a rich weaving history.

Keltouma spent 4 weeks weaving this ombré flatweave.

This piece consists of 100% "live" wool, which was carded, brushed and spun by the women of the association, pictured is Fatima spinning wool. The rug’s colors come from naturally dying the wool using various spice and vegetable blends.

The combination of modern design and thousands of years of tradition makes this piece a true showstopper.

Le Vieux Village Association

The Association Le Vieux Village is a beautiful collective of women artisans just outside of Tazenakht. This Association is a true family affair. Mlouka, the matriarch of the collective, has passed the art of weaving down to her daughters, Naima and Fatima, daughters-in-law, Latifa and Meriem, cousins, and villagers. All of the rugs from Le Vieux are made from 100% live wool that was brushed, carded, and hand-spun by the women of the Association.
