Neutral Ground is a collection that bridges artful design with simplicity, offering warmth and balance to your space. Rooted in traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, each rug represents a harmonious blend of heritage and modernity.

This piece was woven by the artisans of Anzal, a women-only association located about 30 kilometers north of the renowned weaving town of Tazenakht. Founded in 2007, the Anzal collective thrives through the dedication of women who pass down their craft from one generation to the next, preserving their rich weaving tradition.

Made from 100% “live” wool, dyed using the finest ingredients by a third-generation dyeing family. This process ensures not only rich colors but also sustainability and quality in every piece.

Each rug is crafted entirely by hand, which means there may be small variations in pattern, color, and size (up to 10 cm / 4” variation) due to the organic nature of the materials. We strive to capture the details and colors as accurately as possible so you know exactly what to expect.

- Time to Make: Current weave time averages around 8-10 weeks. Rugs larger than 9' x 12' may take an additional 2 weeks. We do our best to visit the artisans every 2 to 3 weeks to capture the progression of the weave.

Soukina and the Artisans of M’rirt

Soukina leads a group of 35 artisans from a village just outside Beni M’rirt in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Founded in the early 2000s by Soukina’s late mother, Ketlouma, the collective specializes in medium to high hand-knot rugs—a style named after the region—as well as M’rirt Zanafi rugs, their unique interpretation of the Zanafi style from the southeast. Traditional rugs from this area are crafted using a thick knotting technique, resulting in an extra-plush texture.
