This rug was handwoven by artisans in Tachrafat.

Tachrafat is nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains just north of the village of Boujad, the namesake of this weaving style.

Boujad rugs tend to utilize vibrant colors used for the design elements. The design motifs most commonly used in Boujad rugs tend to represent geometric shapes, abstract forms and at times symbols that have been passed down through generations.

The weave is less dense than the Beni M'rirt rug as there is more space between knots. Despite the difference in density, it’s still just as cozy and soft as it looks.
